Kashmir National Party to continue its work for an independent Jammu and Kashmir

In line with its policy of gradually setting up branches in various towns and countries, Kashmir National Party gathered in Bedford, England, where a number of local Kashmiri people gathered in Al Feroz Restaurant. The KNP leaders explained aims and objectives of the party to those who were present there.
After detailed discussion some dedicated Kashmiris from Bedford decided to join the Kashmir National Party; and declared to help the KNP leaders to advance the cause of united and independent Jammu and Kashmir.
The local people decided that Mohammed Aslam Uddin will lead the Bedford branch as President. Choudhry Mohammed Riaz will hold the post of Secretary and Choudhry Pervaiz Akhtar will be the branch Organiser. Abdul Rehman and Mohammed Amjad were elected as members of the branch Working Committee.
KNP Spokesman Mr Zubair Ansari, after briefly explaining the responsibilities to the newly elected Office Bearers took oath of allegiance from them.
Newly elected President, Mohammed Aslam, after the oath taking ceremony assured the KNP leadership that they would make sincere and serious effort to promote cause of the Kashmir National Party; and ensure that we help to tell the world community that Kashmir dispute is not religious in nature. He said, ‘Our struggle is not for accession with any country. We want united and independent Jammu and Kashmir where all citizens of Jammu and Kashmir can live in peace and harmony’.
Among the KNP leaders present on this occasion were Abbas Butt (Waatford), Zubair Ansari (Birmingham), Sarwar Husain (Accrington), Asim Mirza (Watford), Nawaz Majid (Watford), Raja Basharat (Birmingham) Raja Zahoor (Hemel Hemstead) and Dr Shabir Choudhry (London).
